Cashew exports from Vietnam for May 2021 estimated at 55,000 MT with total estimated value of US$339 million and an average export price of US$2.80/lb, increased 28.6% in quantity and 29% in terms of value in comparison to May 2020. Total exports from January to May 2021 close to 216,000 MT with a value of is nearly US$ 1.3 billion with average export price of US$2.70/lb, increased 18% in quantity and 5% in terms of value compared to January to May 2020.
Prices for kernels in Vietnam have been softer as supply exceeds demand and the freight prices continue to go up due to lack of containers. RCN prices have not decreased as much as the kernel prices. Some traders and processors hold big volumes of RCN and are not selling at lower levels. Vietnam BRC traded, W240 at USD 3.35-40/lb, W320 at USD 3.04-06/lb, W450 at USD 2.90-92/lb FOB for July to September shipments.
Vietnam SMETA Certified packers offering W320 at USD 3.28/lb FOB for January to March 2022 shipments and BRC Certified packers offering W450 at USD 3.07/lb FOB for January to April 2022 shipments.
